      • About

Vitaris is a semi-hardcore 10-man raiding guild located on the US Frostwolf server. The guild is a relatively small and fairly close-knit community, consisting mostly of mature-age players in their 20s and up. Our players hail from all across the globe, from Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and the US.

        Our Mission

Vitaris maintains a friendly and open guild environment while focusing on strong raid progression. While our primary focus is 10-man raiding, our members are also active in dungeons, battlegrounds, arenas, questing and achievements. When we're not downing bosses, we can be found socialising in guild chat and Mumble or holding random events like camel races.

        Our History

The guild was founded on the Oceanic realm Barthilas on April 1 2010. Due to the difficulty of maintaining a US-based 25-man raiding guild during the server's off-peak times, however, Vitaris moved before the release of Cataclysm to US server Frostwolf. This is where we now call home.

Many of our officers and veterans have played together since the release of BC, with some long before that in vanilla WOW and even in other MMORPGs.

A number of our members have had experience in classic WoW in raids like Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair (level 60). In the Burning Crusade expansion, we worked through Karazhan, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep and Zul'Aman. In Wrath of the Lich King, we cleared Naxxramas, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader and Icecrown Citadel. We defeated the Obsidian Sanctum with 3 Drakes in both 10- and 25-man, Trial of the Grand Crusader with the A Tribute to Insanity (10 player) achievement; Ulduar hard mode achievements for the Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake and ICC for Reins of the Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher.

In Cataclysm we cleared all the raids, crowning our achievements by defeating Deathwing heroic and earning our Saviors of Azeroth titles and Lifebinder's Handmaidens mounts.

        Code of Conduct

The Vitaris tag beneath a player's name indicates that, regardless of rank, they are a representative of our guild. As such, we expect a degree of maturity from our members. Trolling, harassment, rudeness, vulgarity or disrespect of other guild members or realm mates is strictly forbidden and will be dealt with. We do not welcome drama and those who create it into the guild.

Should any issue arise with another player, we advise a member attempt to resolve the situation themselves, privately, with the person in question. If that is not possible, please speak to an officer or the GM for assistance.

        Guild Structure

Vitaris maintains a fairly typical guild hierarchy:

        • Guild Master: As the "CEO" of the guild, the GM oversees the overall maintenance of the guild and does such things as manages raids, recruitment and ranks. The GM of Vitaris is Luadwen.
        • Officer: Officers assist the GM in running the guild on a daily basis, provide assistance to other players and are generally the first point of contact for most new and prospective guild mates.
        • Admin: A rank assigned to raid group organisers who help run their raiding team by leading it, dealing with loot and the EPGP system.
        • Raiders: The rank of all our core raiders. This rank is earned through solid attendance and performance in raids.
        • Casual: The 'friend' rank of the guild, for any player who joins the guild to hang with their Vitaris friend, socialise, level or run dungeons. Anybody can join as a casual member.
        • Alt: The rank for all alts in the guild.
        • Initiate: The rank for prospective raiders. Applicants who have been approved are given this rank for a trial period - typically 2 weeks - and then either promoted to a raider or casual, depending on the situation, or released from the guild.

        Guild Bank

We feature a fully functional guild bank that provides all food, flasks, pots, repairs, enchants and gems for our raiding core. To help maintain the bank's supplies, we have a donation system in place that rewards all donors for their contributions to the guild.

        Raid Schedule

Vitaris currently has two solid 10-man teams, the original progression team and another. We also have randomly scheduled alt runs for fun in our spare time. Each team typically raids from 7PM to 10PM server time (US PST). The raid days do vary. (For more information on raid schedules speak to a guild officer.)

        Attendance

While we aim to enjoy the game, we do have strict attendance requirements. We expect all raiders to maintain a high level of attendance; 9 other people depend on a player being able to meet the commitment they made when they joined Vitaris to raid. Poor attendance will result in replacement. This includes constant lateness, AFKing or disconnecting and is not acceptable.

There are, of course, always exceptions due to real life concerns. We ask that any raider that cannot make a raid or is experiencing issues to please a.) contact an officer ASAP to let them know, and b.) change their signup status on the calendar for the event. Failure to do so may result in losing raider status.

All raids are scheduled and maintained via the in-game Calendar. The raid leader will invite the raiders approximately a week ahead of time. It is up to the raider to signup in a timely fashion or risk losing their spot.

        Loot System

The loot system Vitaris utilises EPGP (Effort Points/Gear Points). After years of experimenting with DKP, loot council and free rolling, we feel that EPGP is the fairest and most rewarding system for our raiders.

More about the system can be found in the Wowpedia article and on our forums.

        Voice Client

The voice client of choice for us is Mumble. Whilst not as commonly used as Vent or TeamSpeak, we found, for our varied geographical locations, Mumble provided the clearest and best quality in voice chat over the others.

More info about the Mumble client, including download, setup and our server information is provided on the forums.

        Trial Period

All new initiates undergo a trial period. This period typically lasts 2 weeks. After that time, officers and raid leaders will review the raider's performance and decide what action to take.

        Applications

All prospective raiders must fill out an application form; there are no exceptions. We are interested in recruiting raiders who are like-minded to us: they work hard at their class, learn strats and encounters, take advice graciously, show up on time, demonstrate reliability, versatility and patience, and have a decent sense of humor to boot. Be willing to wipe a little, succeed a bit, and have fun a lot.

Players interested in joining the guild as a casual player or a friend of a current guildy need not apply. Simply message an officer in the game for an invite.

If interested in applying to the guild as a potential raider, please register for an account and then submit an application form. Our guild officers and raiders will review your application as quickly and as fairly as possible.
